Guitar Society of Las Vegas 2008 Membership Meeting Schedule

Unless otherwise indicated, all Membership meetings will be held at the Flamingo Library 1401 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, Nevada at 6:30PM in the room designated below. Please note that not all dates will be held the 1st Wednesday of the month:

GSLV board meetings are only open to GSLV members. They are usually held once a month at a time and place selected by the President, usually on Saturday afternoons. If you have business before the Board or would just like to sit in on a Board meeting, contact Dan Koury for time, location and details.

Ticket policies for all GSLV concerts:
Members of designated Societies are allowed to purchase two tickets for the members price except as follows:
GSLV family memberships can purchase up to 4 tickets
GSLV Sponsor category members can purchase up to 6 tickets
GSLV Patron category members can purchase up to 10 tickets

Regardless of membership category or Society membership, purchaser must provide valid membership card to receive members discounts!

Moonlight, Movies and Music presents The Shapiro Project at the Rainbow Library
Friday, August 22, 2008, 8:00 to 9:45 P.M.

The Shapiro Project is a jazz group which has a fresh approach to the jazz idiom mainly through new original works composed by its leader and guitarist, Eugene Shapiro. The creative musicianship of this quartet gives their sound a sparkling vitality. You won't want to miss this evening of innovative and exciting jazz. Come enjoy a beautiful evening under the stars with your family and friends. Bring your picnic basket and lawn chair or blanket. Concession sales are available. Our friends at the Las Vegas Jazz Society invite all to attend a Sunday afternoon jazz concert honoring Jimmy Wilkens. Mr. Wilkins currently lives in Las Vegas and has been associated with Count Basie, and dizzy Gillespie among other jazz greats during his amazing career. Mr. Wilkins will perform along with popular local jazz band “The Straight Ahead Trio”. This event is part of the Jazz society’s continuing “Tribute to the Jazz Masters” series. The Event will be held at Sonny’s Tavern, 4145 Grand Canyon Drive (@ W. Flamingo & 215) Sunday August 24, 2008 from 2PM-4PM.
